Membership Committee

PURPOSE STATEMENT
To gain members, keep members and create value for members.

GOAL
To recruit 15 new Chamber members every month and to create value for current Chamber members

Strategies & Tactics

  • Share membership recruitment and retention responsibilities with all Chamber committees by working with liaisons from each committee. Maintain regular, ongoing communication with each liaison regarding status of recruitment efforts
  • Initiate a personal visit to every new member from a Membership Committee representative to review membership benefits, address questions or concerns and offer assistance and support
  • Further develop "Chamber Chum" program through subcommittee designation and chair appointment and encourage regular reports and updates. Create awareness of program through communications including newsletter articles, Monthly Membership Breakfast announcements, etc.
  • Host regularly scheduled New Member Welcomes to recognize new members and provide an opportunity to interact with other members and promote their business or organization
  • Continue with and expand business seminars and programs for members. Survey members to discover seminar topics and issues that members would find most valuable
  • Utilize Monthly Membership Breakfasts to recognize and acclimate new members and report vital membership information
  • External promotion of Chamber membership benefits through traditional and non-traditional marketing efforts

BENEFIT STATEMENT
Without a strong membership base, the Chamber of Commerce can not exist. To ensure the health and sustainability of the Chamber, the Membership Committee works to achieve membership growth, retention and to create value for each member.
