Wellington Chamber of Commerce announces Medical and Wellness Festival Chairmen, Committee and Presenting Sponsors

 

May 12, 2010 - Wellington, FL --- The Wellington Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce Dr. Blake Kendall -Emergency Specialists of Wellington (Wellington Regional Medical Center ER) and Dr. Randall Laurich -The Wellness Center as Chairmen of the 2010 Wellington Health and Wellness Festival.

 

The goal of this event, presented by the Medical Committee of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce is to create awareness of the many dimensions of wellness through experiential booth exhibits. We’ll showcase a variety of specialties including medical screenings, cutting edge fitness trends, integrative and holistic medicine, aromatherapy, pet therapy, free massages and heart healthy food samples. The festival has something for everyone!

 

 

Presenting Sponsors are the City of Wellington, The Pointe at Wellington Green, Emergency Specialists of Wellington, The Wellness Center and MedExpress Urgent Care.

 

 

Dr. Randy Laurich of the Wellness Center has been practicing chiropractic wellness care since 1998 when he graduated from the Sherman College of Straight Chiropractic. Dr. Laurich’s special focus and passion is helping people change the patterns and habits that are preventing the body from healing itself. His broad knowledge in diverse fields including nutrition and exercise therapy, as well as his experience in personal growth and motivational leadership, allows Dr. Laurich to partner with each patient to help them achieve their desired health goals.

 

Dr. Blake Kendall, Emergency Specialists of Wellington is a Board Certified Emergency Medicine Physician and Attending Physician and Director of Marketing and Business Development at Wellington Regional Medical Center- Emergency Department for the past 4.5 years. Dr. Kendall -received his education at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and Yale University and has completed Post Graduate Medical Education at Lehigh Valley Hospital and Health Network, Philadelphia Orthopedic Group and Mercy Catholic Medical Center

 

MedExpress is a full-service urgent care center dedicated to providing Great Care. Fast. The Host Committee of this event includes the Chairmen Dr. Kendall and Dr. Laurich, Kimberly Freedman- MedExpress Urgent Care, representatives from the City of Wellington, Marge Sullivan – The Palm Healthcare Foundation, and Jerry Fonda- Diabetes and Nutrition Centers.

 

 

 

The event will be held Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Pointe at Wellington Green (In Front of LA Fitness). The Wellington Chamber of Commerce is thrilled to announce the launch of our "Young Professionals Organization"!! Our new "YPO" has been created to provide a Networking environment within the Wellington Chamber for our young professionals to network and grow the Chamber and our Community! This group will coordinate networking events, day trips, socials, social networking events and business coaching opportunities.

 

Any business owner or Associate of that business is welcome! He or She, or the Company they work for, must be a Chamber Member in good standing! A desire to obtain more business through the efforts of the other members, and the membership of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce! Each month or sooner as it grows, one individual will be recognized at out monthly luncheons as well as through various social media networking and chamber newsletters for their efforts in our community. Those efforts can range from entrepreneurial to charitable. What has made them stand out, and why they should be recognized!

Pyrogrill is working hard to make our business culture one of community involvement and would like to reward others like them for making the right choice.

 

Each month, Pyrogrill will offer a lunch for 10 people for the business the Wellington Chamber Selection Committee chooses. Criteria will be based on community involvement and good deeds locally.

When I was thinking about how to do so, I realized there is no better way to show our appreciation than by providing the exact service we value most, our food. At that moment, the idea for the Pyrogrill Business of the Week program was born."

Michael McAuliffe State Attorney Michael McAuliffe to speak at Wellington Chamber Luncheon

 

On Wednesday, May 19th 2010 State Attorney Michael McAuliffe will speak to the members and guests of the Wellington Chamber of Commerce at their member luncheon. The luncheon will be held at Binks Forest Golf and Country Club, 400 Binks Forest Dr. In addition, at this event The Wellington Chamber will be rolling out their BRAND NEW Young Professionals Organization, Technology Committee and PyroGrill Business of The Month Program!! This is a not-to-miss event!

 

In November, 2008, Michael McAuliffe was elected as the State Attorney for the Fifteenth Judicial Circuit in and for Palm Beach County, Florida. Mr. McAuliffe took office on January 6, 2009.

 

Prior to becoming State Attorney, Mr. McAuliffe was in private practice as a partner in Rosenberg & McAuliffe, PL (later McAuliffe Law Group) and a partner in Holland & Knight LLP focusing his practice on litigation matters.

 

From 1994 to 1999, Mr. McAuliffe served as an Assistant United States Attorney for the Southern District of Florida. From 1997-1999, Mr. McAuliffe was a Section Chief and Supervisory Assistant U.S. Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office.

 

From 1989 to 1993, Mr. McAuliffe was a prosecutor with the Criminal Section, U.S. Department of Justice, in Washington, D.C. As a federal prosecutor, Mr. McAuliffe investigated and prosecuted cases involving domestic terrorism, official misconduct, hate crimes and involuntary servitude. While at the Justice Department, Mr. McAuliffe successfully prosecuted the leader (Grand Dragon) of the Ku Klux Klan and other 13 Klan members in Louisiana on federal hate crimes charges.

 

Mr. McAuliffe has served an instructor at the National Advocacy Institute/Center of the U.S. Department of Justice and taught appellate advocacy as an Associate Professorial Lecturer in Law at the George Washington University's Law School. For the 1993-94 academic year, Mr. McAuliffe was a CEP Fellow and Visiting Professor of Law in the Czech Republic where he helped establish a reform law school/faculty and taught American constitutional history. Mr. McAuliffe also provided counsel regarding legal reform issues to the Office of the Czech President and various members of Czech Parliament.

 

Mr. McAuliffe earned his BBA with honors (cum laude) from the University of Texas at Austin in 1985 and his Doctor of Jurisprudence (JD) from the Law School at the College of William & Mary in 1989. While at William & Mary Law School, Mr. McAuliffe was inducted into the Order of the Barristers, and he, with two teammates, won the National Moot Court Competition, the nation's premier law school advocacy competition.

 

In the community, Mr. McAuliffe served as the 2007 Vice Chair of the Board for the Children's Home Society, South Coastal Division, and was the 2007-08 Co-Chair of the Palm Beach Fellowship of Christians and Jews. Mr. McAuliffe also served as the President of the Palm Beach Cancer Institute Foundation for 2007-08. In 2007, Mr. McAuliffe was given a special recognition award from the Urban League of Palm Beach County for his service. In 2009, the Puerto Rican/Hispanic Chamber of Commerce gave its "Shining Star" award to Mr. McAuliffe.

 

Aside from his professional endeavors and community leadership, Mr. McAuliffe is an avid mountaineer. In May 2006, Mr. McAuliffe successfully climbed and reached the summit of Denali, the highest peak in North America at 20,320 ft. In January/February 2005, Michael successfully climbed and reached the summit of Aconcagua in South America (Andes) which, at 22,843 ft., is the highest peak in the Western Hemisphere and the world outside of Asia. Mr. McAuliffe also has climbed in Washington State (Mount Rainier) and in Colorado.
Mr. McAuliffe is married to Circuit Judge Robin Rosenberg and together they have three children.
