Your Equestrian Lifestyle Destination
Palm Beach International Equestrian Center is considered the most recognizable equestrian sporting venue in the United States today. It encompasses a total of 500 acres, and the competition rings alone cover over 80 acres. PBIEC has two core facilities containing over 18 competition arenas, including one derby field and one of the largest covered riding surface in the world. It comprises two facilities: the Main Showgrounds at 14440 Pierson Road, and the Stadium, located at the corner of Pierson Road and South Shore Boulevard.
Palm Beach International Equestrian Center is home of the 2015 Winter Equestrian Festival (January 7 March 29, 2015), which draws the elite equestrian show jumping and Hunter riders from around the world. International and Olympic equestrians join to compete and thrill spectators with their pageantry and athleticism. Thousands of passionate equestrians and tens of thousands of enthusiastic spectators visit the venue annually. The “Saturday Night Lights” series offers a fun way to enjoy a Saturday night out with the entire family with a Kid’s Fair every week, vendor shopping, and a variety of dining choices. General admission is free!
The 2015 Great Charity Challenge, presented by Fidelity Investments® (FTI GCC) will celebrate its sixth event at 6:00pm on Saturday, February 7th, 2014, under the lights of the International Arena at the PBIEC.
The FTI GCC is an exhilarating pro/am event where amateurs are paired with world-class riders and randomly assigned with charities to compete for prize money raised by equestrian families and corporate donors. In its first five years, the event raised close to $5 million dollars for almost 90 Palm Beach County charities. The goal this year is to again raise more than $1.5 million with 100% of all proceeds being donated to 34 local charities.
A lasting partnership has evolved with all 13 public Wellington Schools over the past three years. Each school is invited to join in on the festivities each week; local children and their families are able to see equestrian sports first-hand through school field trips and are our proud National Anthem presenters during all major events.
The PBIEC showgrounds offer spectators a picturesque environment to enjoy equestrian competitions. There are a number of hospitality and vendor pavilions dedicated to dining, shopping and VIP areas and are available for rental for special events, parties, and more. There are 1,500 grandstand seats, 80 VIP boxes, private chalets and hospitality pavilions that surround the International Arena, providing up-close views for all spectators.
Keeping the theme of community at its core, the PBIEC is excited to host the third year of the Adequan Global Dressage Festival to run parallel to its already successful Winter Equestrian Festival (WEF), bringing together two very different sports, dressage and show jumping, into the same venue bound by the passion for horses that each share.
The Adequan Global Dressage Festival (Adequan GDF, January 7-March 29, 2014) is one of the world’s largest international and national dressage circuits featuring six CDI events, including one 4* and one 5*, the only non-championship CDIO Nations’ Cup in the Western Hemisphere, and five U.S. National Events. The Adequan GDF is offering more than $400,000 in prize money for the six international competitions, making it one of the richest circuits in the world.
The Stadium, built on almost 60 acres, features a beautifully maintained grass derby field with natural obstacles next to the new Global Dressage Festival grounds, which houses a main arena surrounded by grandstand seating, 200 permanent stalls, the Wellington Equestrian Realty arena that can fit three regulation-size dressage arenas, and one of the world’s largest covered arenas (360’x210’), the Van Kampen Arena.
In addition to the new facility being home to world-class dressage, it will also house exciting jumper derbies and grand prix events, horse exhibitions, and equestrian clinics.
Palm Beach Riding Academy is also housed at The Stadium. Palm Beach Riding Academy’s new establishment will allow individuals the chance to ride at one of the world’s premier equestrian facilities. Individuals of every riding level and ability are encouraged to come ride on of the academy’s many horses and experience the remarkable bond a person can share with a horse. Through this, The Palm Beach Riding Academy will truly allow the doors of the equestrian lifestyle to be open to the non-equestrian members of the community.
Equestrian Sport Productions and Wellington Equestrian Partners welcome everyone in the community to come to the Palm Beach International Equestrian Center, be a part of the equestrian lifestyle, and enjoy top sport! 561.793.JUMP (5867) www.equestriansport.com
