Ashley Svarney, director of public relations and communications at Discover The Palm Beaches (DTPB) – the official tourism marketing corporation for Palm Beach County – oversees all domestic and international public relations activities for the hospitality, leisure, meetings and conventions, and travel trade market segments targeted by DTPB to collectively reinforce the destination’s brand positioning as The Best Way to Experience Florida®.
Svarney brings a dynamic background building strategic communications campaigns for a variety of industries implementing traditional, digital and grassroots efforts. Before joining Discover The Palm Beaches, Svarney served as the Public Relations Manager at the AAA Four-Diamond Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Fla. There, she managed and executed highly successful media relations programs and projects including the launch of the award-winning Kuro Japanese Craft Kitchen, the first-ever Hard Rock Rising Miami Beach Global Music Festival, all publicity activity for the Hard Rock Live concert arena, celebrity appearances and broadcast productions. In addition, Svarney launched the property’s Hard Rock Girl ambassador program, and served as a presenter to the Public Relations Student Society of America at the University of Miami and Florida International University.
Svarney’s agency experience at Bitner Goodman led her to work with a diverse group of clients including six Seminole Gaming properties, Town Center at Boca Raton, Bongos Cuban Café & Sky Lounge, and Florida’s Newport Guitar Festival among others. Earlier in her career, she worked with the Tallahassee Convention & Visitors Bureau and Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau.
